Duke Jr. displayed a remarkable skill while he was a guard in college, earning a reputation as a high-level player. And now, signed by the San Antonio Spurs to a two-way contract, he’s been proving his worth in the G League, playing for the Austin Spurs – the Spurs’ affiliate team – as well as with the Delaware Blue Coats from time past, the Philadelphia 76ers’ affiliate.
Duke Jr. remains an undeniably exciting developmental prospect for the team. One could even say he is a diamond in the rough, waiting to be polished to perfection. 🌟
Being no stranger to the NBA, Duke Jr.’s professional escapades have landed him with the Brooklyn Nets, and quite the summer league experience in 2023, netting a respectable resume of 23 appearances at the NBA level in the 2022-23 season. With a tally of 3.7 points and 1.3 rebounds within an average of 9.9 minutes a game, this young man is nothing to sneeze at.
What about his G League stats?
Duke Jr. scores an impressive 22.2 points per game, accompanied by 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists. A true shooting percentage (a measure of scoring efficiency) of 1.0 deserves a special mention, setting him apart on the court with his elegance.
One thing is certain: the Spurs knew what they were doing when they signed Duke Jr. Although he might not be a game-changer overnight, his skills will surely blossom on the big stage, given the right direction.
